Jerrilyn Marie Hill, age 73 of Oxford, passed away at McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Jerri was born in Dayton, Ohio on May 29, 1950 to Grover and Ruth Benson. She graduated from Xenia High School in 1968. Jerri worked with the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities at the Hamilton Center for many years before going to Talawanda School District. Jerri worked at Talawanda High School as a job coach with special needs students. Upon retirement, Jerri continued to stay involved in the school as a sub until she was diagnosed again with cancer. Jerri enjoyed playing Bingo at Oxford Senior Center, gardening, scratch off tickets, was an avid Beach Boys fan and loved going for walks.
Jerrilyn is survived by her children, Jason Hill and Melinda Weddle; her grandchildren, Sophia Weddle, Merrick Hill, Blake Weddle and Eowyn Hill; her beloved dog, Penney; many cousins including, Barb Pugsley, Paul Fought, Debbie Hurles and Mike Fought; and her best friend, Nellie Meyer. Jerrilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Ruth Benson; her brother, Tom Benson; and her dear aunt, Esther Wein.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, Ohio 45013. Memorial service will follow at 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Humane Society of Preble County.
