Darrell L. Robinson

Darrell L. Robinson, age 79 of Hamilton, OH passed away at his residence in Maryville, TN, on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 6:52AM. He was born in Hamilton on August 7, 1935 to Hugh and Maxine (Gabbard) Robinson. Darrell was employed at Hamilton Tool Company for 35 years, retiring in 1998. On July 30, 1955 in Jellico, TN he married Gwendolyn Overbee. He attended the Good News Center Church of Friendsville, TN. Darrell formed the Shiloh Knothole Baseball League with the help of Richard Angst, and many devoted parents from Seven Mile in 1969. Shiloh grew to over 330 participants from Seven Mile and surrounding areas, and the tradition still continues today.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gwendolyn M. Robinson, of Maryville, TN; two children, Rama D. (Adam) Conley, of Wheelersburg, OH and Jim D. (Melody) Robinson, of Maryville, TN; 16 grandchildren, Amy (Paul) Kuhn, Cindy (Chad) Allen, Valerie (Brian) Payne, Becky Sosby, Maria (Robert) Haskins, Matt (Ashley) Sosby, Jessica (Geoff) Hetter, Jennifer (James) Clark, Stacie Evans, Curron (Tequia) Conley, Leigha Thorton, Noah McDowell, Corey Conley, Pablo Robinson, Selena Robinson, Diego Robinson; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond (Ann) Robinson, Joe Robinson, and Wayne (Connie) Robinson; one sister Jaunita (Ted) Cahall; and one sister-in-law Geraldine Robinson . He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Hugh Fred Robinson; one niece, Vanessa (Robinson) Wogenstahl; and his best buddy and brother in law, Cleveland Dykes.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 11AM with Pastor Jim Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 5pm-8PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
