David L. Helton Sr.

David L. Helton Sr. CLU,LUTCF,CLTC, age 66 of Hamilton, passed away at Fort Hamilton Hospital on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 11:35AM. He was born in Hamilton on August 18, 1949 to Hobert and Vilma (Huff) Helton. David was employed at Square D for 19 years, and also at Prudential Insurance for 27 years. David graduated with a BA from Miami University in 1979, with a degree in Business and Finance. He was a member of Princeton Pike Church of God. David was a Kentucky Colonel, was on the Masters Council, The American College, The National Association of Life Underwriters, and also had the Quality Client Service Leader Award. He enjoyed gospel music, and blue grass music with his friends Barb and Dennis Day. His greatest joy in life was traveling, and watching his grandchildren play sports.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Karen Helton of Hamilton; two children, Kevin (Marissa) Helton of Lebanon, and David Helton Jr.; two grandchildren, Ayden and Juliana. He was preceded in death by parents; one half brother, Ronnie Combs of Parker, Colorado.

Funeral service will be held at Princeton Pike Church of God, 6101 Princeton Glendale Road, on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 10AM with Pastor Barry Clardy officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 5PM-8PM at the church.
