Grant Fields, age 88 of Tavares, FL passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Grant was born in Jackson County, KY, on June 5, 1932 to the late Steve and Maggie (Greer) Fields. Grant proudly served in U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his time in the service, Grant was a driver for Ranger Transportation for almost 20 years. When Grant retired and moved to Florida, he settled in well at Imperial Terrace West in Tavares, where he made many friends. He was generally known to be the “Go-To Guy” and will be remembered as a wonderful neighbor to have.
Grant is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Helen (Boggs) Fields; his children, Leon (Maureen) Fields and Regina (Jesse) Wood; his grandchildren, Dusty, Nick, Stacy, Kristy, Jenna, and Chris; his 14 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Eva (Duke) Bailey, Gertrude Proffitt, Edna Pennington, Lois Jane (Donnie) Chestnut, and Clyde Fields; his special niece, Jeanene Ghent, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Grant was preceded in death by his brothers, Carl Fields and Clifford Fields.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Pastor James Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 29, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home.
