She was married to Jim for 21 years until his death in 1992. Joan worked for many years in the furniture department at Elder-Beerman store in Hamilton, and also had been employed as a real estate agent. Joan is survived by her nephews Bascom and Walter Pribble, Robert, Walter, and Foster Hutchinson, and George (Junior), Gary, and Tim McGuire, niece Vivian, as well as over thirty great nieces and nephews and over a dozen great-great nieces and nephews. She leaves behind many friends and will always be remembered for her love of animals, especially her devoted companion, Opie, and the numerous cats she cared for over the years. It was Joan’s wish to be cremated and buried at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond with her family. There will be a graveside memorial service at a later date.
