Judy H. Collins

June 1, 1946 — November 28, 2019

Judy H. Collins was born to Layton and Ora Brown on June 1, 1946. She started her life on the farm in Oneida, KY but moved to Lindenwald in Hamilton, OH when she was a young girl. She grew up in Hamilton and graduated from Garfield HS in 1964 with her future husband Jerry W. Collins, who also grew up in Lindenwald.

Jerry and Judy (Brown) Collins were married on April 10, 1965 and soon started their family. They were to raise four children together. Jerry worked hard to support his family at Smith Refrigeration until he and Judy started their own business, Collins Refrigeration, Heating and Air Conditioning in the fall of 1969. She handled the books for their business as well as every endeavor her husband assumed, backing him one hundred percent. Mere words cannot accurately describe how truly special this woman was. Only words of praise can describe her, for she was so loving, kind, sympathetic, empathetic and benevolent. She was always busy, but would make time to talk and/or listen to anyone who wanted or needed her. She was your number one cheerleader, confidant, friend and coach. Judy was a friend and mother to so many people in her life. To know her was to love her. Read that again. To know her was to love her. The family is so proud of the woman, wife and mother she was as well as the many lives that she touched during her short time on earth.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her only sibling, an older brother, Layton Brown Jr., of Vero Beach, FL and her daughter-in-law, Susan (Jerry) Collins. Judy was an avid reader and loved to do crossword puzzles. She also loved her pets; a horse of a German Shepard named Jax and an ugly cat she called, ‘Pelosi’, who surprisingly became part of the family during a trip to the grocery store. However, her primary love was her husband, Jerry, and the family they built together. She was exceptionally proud of her family and she loved them with every fiber of her being. She loved family time and traveling. Although she provided an abundance, she asked for very little in return.

Judy leaves behind her adoring husband, Jerry W. Collins of Hamilton, four loving children, Ronald W. Collins of Fairfield, Jerry B. Collins of Trenton, Jeffrey L. Collins of Hamilton and Dana R. (Doug) French of Trenton. She proudly showered her love upon and was blessed with ten grandchildren. Her favorites include, Tim Collins, Michael Collins, Kaitlyn Collins, Ryan Collins, Maggie Collins, Layton Collins, Wyatt Collins, Dawson French, Dylan French and Dayton French. She was a special, loving soul. Something is missing in the world today and it’s Judy Helen Collins. She represented love and understanding in our family. The void will never be filled. To know her was to love her. The family greatly appreciates and would like to thank her grandson, Ryan Collins, for the exemplary, loving care and time he made for her during her final weeks. Judy said Ryan was ‘her rock’. He made Judy, Jerry and the entire family proud. To know her was to love her. The Collins family would like to thank everyone that supported our family throughout this difficult time. Special thanks to Nancy Biondo, Rod Mills, Jackie Couch, Steve and Joanie Wyatt, Joanie Collins-Wilson and Patrick Andrews.
