Lillian "Marlene" Prewitt

December 15, 1948 — November 18, 2016

Lillian "Marlene" Prewitt, beloved wife, mama, mammaw, and sister, went peacefully to Heaven Friday morning, Nov 18, 2016 after a courageous battle with AML/MDS diagnosed earlier this year. Born to Samuel and Cleida Rogers on December 15, 1948. She graduated from Taft High School in 1966 where her vivacious personality, great sense of humor, and feisty zest for life earned her the nickname "Tiger Lil". Soon after marrying the love of her life, John Prewitt, on December 8, 1973, she was diagnosed with lupus. In spite of her many physical challenges, she had 2 beautiful children, John "Bear" and Margie, and her selfless spirit's priority and passion in life became solely bringing happiness, joy, and laughter to their lives and all those she touched. Marlene was an amazing cook, "professional" shopper, and diehard Reds and Bengals fan (win or lose). Her generous nature was always shown by her gift-giving to others at her own birthday parties. After her diagnosis this year, her family and friends around the country formed Team Marlene, and were her faithful prayer warriors during her battle. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel & Cleida. She is survived by husband, John Prewitt, children, John "Bear" Prewitt, and wife, Megan, and Margie David, and husband, Josh, her darling grandchildren, Waylon and Wyatt David, brother Samuel D. Rogers (Jan Abernathy), and sisters Pamela (Rick) Felts, and Tina (Dubin) Jackson, devoted friend, Chuck Nolen, many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, her beloved Yorkies, Jack & Jill, and her dear friends and neighbors. Her heartbroken loved ones will dearly miss everything about her beautiful spirit and smile...until they meet again. Service will held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11:00AM with Pastor Rick Rhodus officiating at Rose Hill Burial Park Chapel, 2421 Princeton Rd. Burial to follow at the cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM to 11:00AM before service.
