Merle Hahn

Merle Hahn, age 94 of Alhambra, California, formerly of Hamilton, passed away at Miralinda Convalescent Hospital on Wednesday, December 9, 2009. She was born in Hamilton on February 23, 1915 the daughter of Teryl and Etta Mae (Whitters) Holland. Merle was employed as a stock clerk for Alber’s Supermarket in the 1950’s.

She is survived by two children, Jerry (Sharon) Hahn of New Miami and Jo-Ann Hahn of Alhambra, California; eight grandchildren, Christi (Rick) Bates, Tobin Hahn, Richard Hahn, Jo-Ann Hahn, Holly (Jim) Breedlove, Charles Ybarra, Joe (Denise) Ybarra, and Dena Ybarra; twenty great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hahn; father, Teryl Holland; mother and stepfather, Etta Mae and Joseph Smith; her two children, George (Julia) Hahn and Marsha (Dennis) Ybarra; three brothers, Stanley Holland, Byron Holland, and Charles Smith; three sisters, Myrtle Owens, Ethel Holland, and Irene Cook; a grandson, Kyle Hahn; and a great-grandson, Jerry Hahn.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev, Charles A. Staudenmaier of Bethel Community Church officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
