Phyllis Rose Barnes

Phyllis R. Barnes of Hamilton, Ohio passed away at Hospice of Cincinnati on Saturday, April 17, 2021 after a long illness. She was born in Yancy, Kentucky on April 17, 1943 to Cecil and Edith (Shepherd) Boyd. She married the love of her life, Ronald D. Barnes, on February 8, 1960. Together they had two sons, Ricky Barnes and Ronald Duane Barnes.

Phyllis followed Ron all over the world during his military career and was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother.  Phyllis lived her life on her own terms and will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bethesda Butler Hospital for their care and support during her many visits over the last 2 years as well as the staff at Doverwood  Village  where she had been a resident since January of this year. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald D. Barnes, her parents Cecil and Edith (Shepherd) Boyd and a brother, Donald Ray Boyd.

She is survived by her sons, Ricky Barnes and his wife Deborah and Ronald Duane Barnes, her grandson Kaleb Dean Barnes, her brothers Bobby Boyd, Curtis Boyd and his wife Linda and her sister, Kathy Schwable and her husband Troy, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., Hamilton, Ohio. Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at 1:30 PM.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
