Velma F. Smith "Aunt Bay"

Velma F. Smith "Aunt Bay", age 81 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 8:11 PM. She was born in Martin County, Kentucky on April 14, 1927 the daughter of Ulysses and Flora (Pack) Mollett. Velma was employed at Square D Company for 20 years, retiring in 1990. She belonged to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. In 1946 in Martin County, Kentucky she married Denard Smith, and he preceded her in death in 1974.

She is survived by two children, Barbara C. Smith and Wayne H. Smith, both of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Thomas Wayne Smith and Amanda Jo Smith, both of Hamilton; a great-grandson, Tanner Wayne Smith; two sisters, Hester Gullett of Springfield and Eileen Dyer of Fairfield; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ulysses Mollett and Flora Williams; two brothers, Howard and Claggett Mollett; and a sister, Jean Slama.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
