Zethel "Zeke" Eleton

Zeke Eleton, age 78 of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Zeke was born in Manchester, Kentucky on August 24, 1938 to Henry and Ersley (Day) Eleton. On December 18, 1957 he united in marriage to love of his life, Norma Lauer. He was employed by Champion Paper from 1962 to 1996. After retirement he went to work for Larry Minges, a dear friend, at Minges Drywall and finally retired in 2008. Zeke was an Army Veteran stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He was a life time member of AmVets Post 1983, serving as Commander from 2004 to 2005. Zeke was also a Kentucky Colonel.

Zeke is survived by his wife of 59 years, Norma Eleton; his children, Steve (Erica) Eleton and Lisa (Dave) Roberts; his grandchildren, Allison (Gary) Combs, Amanda (Brad) Spahn, Emily, Gabriel, Jacob, and Josiah Eleton; his greatest joys, his great grandchildren, Austin and Luke Broshear and his baby, Claire Spahn; his sisters, Ruth (Bob) Madden, Reba (Rob) Schmidt, and Donna (Dave) DeFazio; his in-laws, Joann (Joe) Barsamian, Phil (Donna) Nunamaker, Debbie Wagers, and Deidra (Rick) Thieken; many other family members and great lifelong friends; and last but not least, his dog Jake the Poo.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Commander and Chaplain Mike Farmer officiating of AmVets Post 1983. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. G, Emily, the staff at OHC, the nurses on the 5th floor and the ICU at Fort Hamilton.
