A. Marie Sewell

A. Marie Sewell (nee Loudin), age 89 of Hamilton passed away at Otterbein Retirement Community on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 10:10 AM. She was born in Lee County, Kentucky on September 29, 1919 the daughter of Chester and Isa (Coin) Loudin. Marie was employed as a book keeper for Hart Jewelry for 20 years, retiring in 1975. She was a long time member of Grace Methodist Church and volunteered at Meals on Wheels and Fort Hamilton Hospital for a number of years. She loved to read and enjoyed bowling and playing bridge. She married Shirley L. Sewell who preceded her in death in 1978.

She is survived by one daughter, Thora (William) Patterson of Hamilton; one grandchild, Kirk (Denise); one great-grandchild, Nicholas; two sisters, Ruby (Willie) Truett and Jo Phillips; two brothers, Tom (Arlene) and Jack (Judy); three step-grandchildren, Jane (Tip), Judy (John), and Steve (Tari); five step great-grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild; special friend and neighbor, Thelma McDowell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bill; and one sister Virginia Barnard.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to, Otterbein Angels, 585 N. St. Rt. 741, Lebanon, Ohio 45036.
