Ada Marie Hammer

There is no amount of time that would have ever been enough.  Our sweet mother, Ada Maria Hammer, passed away all too soon at the age of 67 at her home in Milford, Ohio. She was a mother to all, an angel on loan, who we believe was sent to guide us, love us unconditionally, selflessly, and with her whole heart; until the day she took her final breath, on Sunday, October 1st, 2023.  She was a lover of sweets, a good Hallmark movie, bingo, a tropical cruise, her cat Frisky of course, and above all her family.  She was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on October 17th, 1955.  She would tell stories often of the family that surrounded her, whom she loved deeply, especially her parents Lester and Iva Dean (Davis) Gray.

Marie was beautifully gifted with the ability to nurture and love every person she met, effortlessly.  No one was ever a stranger to her, and she never met a baby or child that didn’t love her immediately.  It was an honor to be taught by her, to be loved by her, and to know her.  What a beautiful gift to have her in our lives, she will be deeply missed.

Ada is survived by her two daughters, Jeanette (Terrell) Boyd and Melissa (Michael) Ball; her grandchildren, Cadence Boyd, Makayla Boyd, Aidan Ball, Aubree Ball, and Andi Kate Ball; her siblings, Lester (Narka) Gray, Denise (Rob) Brainerd, Vonda (Doug) Banks, and Michelle (Mark) Brockman; two sister-in-laws; Dottie (Tamberlyn) and Terri (Gary); and her mother-in-laws, Mary (Tom) Keller, and Beverlee (Don) Hammer; the nieces and nephews she loved, as well as other family and friends. Ada was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Iva Dean Gray; her husband, Donald Eugene Hammer; and her father-in-law Donald Hammer Sr.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, and funeral service will be held immediately following with Rev. Tyler Himes and Rev. Daniel Hidlebaugh officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
