Ada Hyde

Ada Hyde, age 83 of Oxford passed away at her residence on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 6:00 AM. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky on August 4, 1926 the daughter of Elijah and Lucy (Valentine) Hensley. Ada was employed in maintenance at the Miami University Oxford campus for 23 years, retiring in 1985. On November 15, 1941 in Manchester, Kentucky she married Robert Hyde, and he preceded her in death in 1991.

She is survived by a son, Robert (Brenda) Hyde Jr. of Franklin, Kentucky; two daughters, Pearl (Robert) Taggart of Brandon, Mississippi and Tracy Stonecipher of Hamilton; eight grandchildren, Chris, Ryan, Nicole, Lisa, Teresa, Dakota, Billy and Dalton; three great-grandchildren, Josh, Jeremy, and Aaron; a great-great-grandson, Matthew; and two sisters, Harriett Wilburn of Richmond, Kentucky and Nell Davis of West Chester. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Callie Begley; three brothers, Bert, Dan, and Logan Hensley; and two sisters, Minnie Humbert and Bess Melton.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
