Alan Duane Fields

Alan Duane Fields, age 56 of Hamilton went to be with our precious Lord on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11:20 AM. He was born in Benham, Kentucky on July 10, 1953 the son of Earl Roland and Bonnie Sue (Clark) Fields. Alan was employed at and served as past president of IBEW Local #648. He had a passion for serving the Lord and had been very instrumental in spiritual movements in area churches and in other countries. Alan loved life and enjoyed golfing, fishing, teaching, singing, people, and spending time with family. He was a big man with a big heart, and truly loved people, his family, and Jesus.

He is survived by his wife, Glenda Fields of Hamilton; a son, Bradley A. Fields of Hamilton; a brother, Earl Roland (Leslie) Fields Jr. of Hamilton; four nephews, Nathaniel Alexander Fields, Nicholas Andrew Fields, Micah Lester Fields, and Logan Earl Fields; a niece, Emily Renee Fields; an aunt, Monetta Helton of Virginia; an uncle, Harold "Moe" Fields of Lexington, Kentucky; many special cousins; and a special companion, his dog Monty. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at the Calvary Christian Center, 2355 Jacksonburg Road, on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Pastors Jim and Diane Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Alan’s family would like to thank all who cared for him at Mercy Hospital in Fairfield, Outpatient Services and Cancer Care Fairfield, and Hospice of Hamilton. A very special thanks to Dr. William Krall and his nurse Linda, and to Dr. Ron Schneider for giving compassionate care and being true friends. Also thanks to all our friends, family, church family, and work family for the many cards, words of encouragement, and prayers. Contributions may be made in memory of Alan to Calvary Christian Center’s youth or mission departments, Cancer Care of Fairfield, or to Hospice of Hamilton.
