Albert L. Cook, age 73 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Friday July 31, 2009 at 7:55 PM. He was born in Hamilton on April 7, 1936 the son of Albert Sheldon and Anna (Lunsford) Cook. Albert was employed in automation setup at Ford Motor Company for 40 years, retiring in 1999. On December 25, 1963 in Hamilton he married Frances Willoughby. Albert was a member of the North Fairfield Baptist Church; the Deputy Director of Civil Defense under Irene Lewis; a Special Deputy for the Butler County Sheriff’s Department; and the Past President of the Hamilton Optimist Club for seven years. He enjoyed camping with his family, woodcarving, fishing, and motorcycle racing.
Albert was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who is survived by his wife, Frances Cook of Hamilton; three children, Rebecca (Mark) Henson, Randall (Carolyn Penny) Cook of Fairfield, and Rowena (Chris Lovins) Cook of Brookville, Indiana; one sister, Ruby (Jim) Johnson of Fairfield; four grandchildren, Anna Grace Hurst, and Ryan, Sean, and Laura Henson; his two loving pets, Pookie and Tuffy; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Raymond, Melvin, and Howard Cook; and two sisters, Judy Cook and Armilda Manrod.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Mark Wilson of the North Fairfield Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held Monday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
