Alice K. Jeffers, age 64 of Hanover Township passed away at her residence on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 11:50 AM. She was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on June 28, 1947 the daughter of Daniel Franklin and Ruth (Seale) Johnston. Alice was a preschool teacher for The Presbyterian Church for 15 years, and was employed as a social worker for Butler County Children’s Services for 20 years, retiring in 2008. She was a member of the Elks Lodge #93 Auxiliary and loved to garden and enjoyed being with her family. On April 23, 1966 in Adrian, Michigan she was married to Fred Jeffers.
A loving wife, mother, and Allie, she is survived by her husband, Fred Jeffers of Hanover Township; two sons, Daniel (Maria) Jeffers of Middletown and David (Andrea) Jeffers of South Bend, Indiana; six grandchildren, Clayton, Nathan, Janie, Gabrielle, William, and Harrison; and her loving dog, Zoe Ann. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A prayer service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, January 20, 2012 at 4:00 PM with Fr. Ronald Haft, Pastor of St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
