Alice Mae Stanbery

Alice Mae Stanbery, age 96 of Hamilton, passed away at Bradford Place on Thursday, April 23, 2015. She was born in Toledo on July 21, 1918 to Stephan and Stella (Jazionowski) Nowakowski. Alice was employed as a clerk for the County Commissioners Office and the Board of Elections in Lucas County. She was a member of St. Hedwig Parish and Rosary Cathedral in Toledo for many years. On December 19, 1942 in Toledo, she married Sanford Richard Stanbery, and he preceded her in death on January 27, 1972. Her family was her life.

She is survived by her children, Paul (Patricia) Stanbery of Hamilton, Michael (Paula) Stanbery of Knoxville, TN, and Fr. Stephan Stanbery, of Archbold, OH; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Teresa Karwowski; and one infant brother Casimir Nowakowski.

Visitation will be held on Sunday April 26, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for family only. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Toledo, OH on Tuesday April 28, 2015 at 1PM. Memorial contributions can be made to Little Sisters of the Poor.
