Alma Statum

Alma (Back) Statum, age 80 of Oxford, went home to be with The Lord on Thursday May 29, 2014 at Woodlands Country Manor. She was born in Letcher County, KY on September 10, 1933 to Henry and Martha (Melton) Back. Alma was employed as a housing manager at Miami University for over 20 years. Alma loved her church, Faith Pentecostal Church of Hamilton, her pastor, Rick Witt, and all her church family. She also loved going on trips with them. On February 12, 1955 in Oxford, she married Joe Statum. She loved to travel, and her and Joe traveled to many places throughout the world.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years Joe Statum; one son, Joe (Traci) Statum; four grandchildren, Cody Michael, Micayla Rose, Tyler Joseph, and Caytlin Michelle; and one sister, Pruda Stanley; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one beloved daughter, Mitzie Statum; 16 half brothers and sisters, Henderson, Ellis, Rex, Riley, Willie, Lily, Ada, Delpha, Hattie, Georgia, Josie, Cindy, Ranea, Tina, Annie, and Betty); and one sister Dalna(Dee) Back Caudill; and one brother Percil Back.

Funeral service will be held at Ambassadors Pointe, 5450 College Corner Road, on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11:30AM with Rev. J. Stephen Statum and Pastor Rick Witt officiating. Burial will follow at Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 from 10:30AM until time of service at 11:30AM at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Pentecostal Church of Hamilton.
