Alpha P. Lynch

Alpha P. Lynch, age 92 of Fairfield passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 2:10pm at Hospice of Hamilton, following a brief illness. She was born in Falmouth, Kentucky on April 28, 1917 the daughter of Henry and Gertrude (Schmidt) Dahms. Alpha moved to the Hamilton area at age 8 and attended schools in Hamilton and Fairfield. She was a devoted homemaker who loved to garden, sew, cook, and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Alpha was a lifelong member of The First Church of God. In 1951, she married James Lynch, and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 2004.

She is survived by a daughter, Peggy (Cliff) Barker of Fairfield; two granddaughters, Alison Goosinow of Bethel and Carmen Carter of Miami, Florida; a grandson, David Gorsuch II of Indianapolis, Indiana; four great-grandchildren, Eric Gorsuch, Anthony Gorshuch, Carrie Rutherford, all of Fairfield, and Caleigh Carter of Miami, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roy and Randall Dahms; and six sisters, Leona Blades, Lillian Yauger, Gladys White, Myrtle Thomin, Mable Dahms, and Edna Dahms.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Ron Kulp of First Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
