Alton Ray Lykins

July 12, 1937 — April 24, 2010

Alton Ray Lykins, age 72, of Hamilton, passed away at the home of his son, on Saturday April 24, 2010. He was born in Edna, Kentucky on July 12, 1937 the son of Edgar and Ophia (Whitt) Lykins. A retired truck driver, Alton enjoyed collecting old cars and trucks. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Alton is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sue (Brown) Lykins, who he married on July 20, 1956 in Edna, Kentucky; six sons, Edgar (Sheila), David (Patty), Danny (Regina), Mark (Tammy), Jeff (Dodie), and Michael (Denise); 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Hazel Ritchie, Lutie Keeton, and Jean Keaton. He was preceded in death by his parents, a great-granddaughter Ella Rose Konicke and four brothers, Vurl, Oliver, Adam, and Dillard.

Funeral services will be held at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave. on Tuesday, April 27th at 12:30 PM with Rev. Keith Keeton his nephew officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Ohio, 7625 Camargo Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45243. Alton’s family extends a special thank you to Dr. Richard Sternberg and staff and Hospice of Southwest Ohio for their excellent care and concern.
