Alvin Amis, age 89 of Hamilton, passed away at Parkside Nursing Center on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 2:45 PM. He was born in Booneville, Kentucky on March 26, 1927 to Andy and Easter (Noble) Amis. Alvin was veteran of WWII and was employed at Mosler Safe Company for over thirty years.
He is survived by his son, Herman A. (Ronda) Amis of Madison Township; one daughter, Phyliss (Terry) Brinck of Cincinnati; two sisters, LInda Wilder of Beattyville, Kentucky and Violet Harris of Indiana; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by three spouses, Bertha (Sergent) Amis, Cora B. (Peters) Amis, and Beulah (Napier) Amis; four brothers, Andy, Herschel, Clyde, and Lawrence Amis; and two sisters, Zola Harris and Helen Russum.
Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, August 12, 2016 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Rick Witt of Faith Pentecostal Church officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
