Alvin Charles Grube passed away at Hospice of Cincinnati Hamilton on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the age of 83. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on March 14, 1943, the son of Alvin and Alma (Henry) Grube. Al attended high school and then went straight into Mechanics where he excelled in his career. In 1962, he married Patricia Armstrong and had 2 girls. After their divorce, he married Linda Grube, who was widowed and had 3 young boys. Later, Penny (the youngest) was born.
Al started as an auto mechanic at Kunkel’s Automative in Cincinnati and then moved on to work on motorcycles. In 1976, he started as a mechanic at Dev-Con Honda, quickly moving up to become the shop foreman for what is now Performance Honda. He also worked on cars for family and friends out of his own garage. As he aged, he was determined to keep doing what he loved and worked up until eighty. What stands out about Al was his unending devotion to his family and our Lord. He was an active member of the church, board member, and all around fix it guy.
Al is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda K. Grube; 6 children, Patty Connelly, Brian Jones (Leslie), Kathy Meyer (Mike), Michael Jones (Carianne), Marty Jones, and Penny Bowden (David); his sister Nancy Koren-Barsmann; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Al was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Linda Mardis and Alma Barnett. He will be missed so much!
A visitation will be held at Bridge Church of the Nazarene located at 308 Millville Avenue, in Hamilton on Thursday, the 26th of March, from the hours of 10 am to 11 am, with a funeral service to follow. Committal and interment will be in Darrtown Cemetery (Milford Township). Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home has been entrusted with Alvin's care.
