Alvina M. Reed

Alvina M. Reed, age 89 of Hamilton passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, on Wednesday, December 3, 2008. She was born in Hamilton on May 4, 1919 the daughter of Jerry and Whilhelmina (Schueler) Robertson. In 1929 in Hamilton, she married Robert C. Reed, and he preceded her in death in 1984.

She is survived by two sons, Robert (Brenda) Reed and Richard Reed, both of North Carolina; seven daughters, Janet (Ben) Balzer, Martha Wiggins, both of North Carolina, Brenda (Roger) Garland of Fairfield, Linda Combs, Sandra (Mike) Tipton, both of Hamilton, Cheryl (Bernie) Schlarmann of Indiana, and Lisa Allen of Hamilton; 29 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Frank, George, Charles, and John Robertson; and two sisters, Elizabeth Gill and Cecilia Parrish.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 3:00 PM with Pastor Jim Williford of North Dayton Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
