Amy C. Schraer

October 29, 1971 — September 2, 2025

Hamilton

Amy C. Schraer, age 53 of Hamilton, passed away at Kettering Hospital Hamilton on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Amy was born in Canton, Ohio on October 29, 1971 to James Berton and Kathy (Meyers) Collier.

Amy and Bob were married on May 28, 2011, in Hamilton, Ohio. Their life was full of adventure, including weekends at Brookville Lake Resort every weekend through the summers, and boating on Brookville Lake. She was so proud of the fact that she’d owned her beautiful Lake House for 17 years. Amy was a great boater and took such pride in her skills!

She loved her fur babies and was a wonderful “Mom” to so many rescued dogs and some very special animals she raised from puppies. She had her favorites, but don’t tell any of the others! She loved them all. Unfortunately, she has lost many of her beloved pets and always mourned them. I think it was the toughest thing she had to go through, losing her babies.

Amy loved the beach and visited often. Her favorite was Myrtle Beach, but also enjoyed beaches in Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale, and several other Florida beaches. She also enjoyed cruising and had been on several cruise lines over the years. Amy was full of adventure!

Her favorite time of year was the Fall, so it is only fitting that she would pass at this time of year. Her fall decor may never be displayed, or her wonderful Thanksgiving dinners may never be enjoyed again, but she always opened her home to anyone without a place to go on this holiday she held so dear.

Amy and Bob were avid Bengals Fans! She cheered and screamed for every game. She would get so upset if the Bengals lost, vowed never to watch again, even change her favorite team “for spite”. But it was very apparent that she would never abandon her beloved Bengals.

Amy is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Schraer; her parents: Kathy Collier, James (Dana) Berton; her brother Daniel (Jill) Berton; her aunts and uncles; Susan Meyers, Cathie Whitman, Linda Berton, Michael Berton, Robert Mickey, Tina (James) Michaels, Cousins: Angela (Ken) Nichols, Michelle (Tim) Allen, Cody (Maggie) Whitman, Kyle (Laura) Whitman, Robby (Sierra) Mickey, Kayla (Brandon) Estep, Eliot Michaels, Charlie Michaels, Sophia Michaels; along with many other family members and cherished friends.

Amy is preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert & Wilda Meyers, Earl & Emma Mickey; and her uncle, Joey Meyers.
