It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness we are announcing that Anna Louise “Ann” House (Thompson), age 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on September 28th, 2026.
Ann was born on June 21, 1935, in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Clifton Paul and Hazel Thompson (Leffler), she grew up in Hamilton with her seven siblings. She is survived by Betty Ateyo, Daniel Thomson (Jean) and William Thompson “Billy” (Thyra). She was preceded in death by Paul Thompson (Phyllis), Tex Thompson (Reva), Helen Lawrence (Les) and Jean Thompson. She was a 1953 graduate of Ross High School and in 1955 she married William H. House. Ann is survived by her husband of 71 years, William H. House and her children, Cynthia Crosby (Luke), Timothy House (Tim Adams), Kristy Lorentsen, and Benjamin House (Linda), six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann was a loving wife, a doting mother, a homemaker and a proud member of Saint Stephens Church, and attended Queen of Peace Church (Millville). She worked alongside her husband in helping to establish their construction businesses, Hamilton Excavators and later Mt. Pleasant Blacktopping Co. Inc. She had many hobbies throughout her life including dance, bowling, card club, camping, boating and fishing. She and her husband also were travel enthusiasts; they traveled around the world on many trips by land, air and sea including cruising through the Panama Canal, visiting Mt. Fuji in Japan and touring the Italian Alps.
Ann had health issues in her later years, but she was blessed to have the care and comfort of her four children and their families. A special mention must be made of her husband that provided much of the care Ann received during her five years of struggles, his devotion allowed Ann to remain with him in their home until recently, when it became necessary to seek hospice care.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the kind and caring staff of Westover and a heartfelt acknowledgement of the wonderful care and support provided to Ann and our entire family by the care givers and nurses from Hospice of Cincinnati.
Anna left a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion for all to remember her by. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
