Anna M. Nieters

Anna M. Nieters, age 93 of Hamilton passed away at Mercy Franciscan at Schroder on Friday, December 4, 2009 at 4:55 AM. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 13, 1916 the daughter of Frank and Charlotte (Wessel) Unger. Anna was member of the Notre Dame Tabernacle Society for over 50 years, serving as Treasurer and later as President and a volunteer for the Mercy Hospital of Hamilton Auxiliary. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. On June 6, 1939 in Reading, Ohio she married Frank A. Nieters, and he preceded her in death in 1980.

She is survived by her daughter, JoAnne (Bruce) Benzing of Fairfield; two sons, James (Catherine) Nieters of Columbus, Ohio, and Dr. Gerald Nieters of Morganton, North Carolina; one sister, Charlotte Kettler; eleven grandchildren, Edward (Theresa) Nieters, Michael (Sarah) Nieters, Cynthia (James) Grube, Kevin (Debra) Nieters, John (Lisa) Nieters, Mark (Barbara) Nieters, Gerard Nieters, Daniel (Mendi) Nieters, Catherine (Keith) Benzing-Schaefer, Jeffrey Benzing, and Eric Benzing; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lawrence Unger and Monsignor Hubert Unger; and a sister, Rita Reuter.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2550 Millville Avenue, on Monday, December 6, 2009 at 10:00 AM with Father Jeff Bacon, Celebrant and Father Patrick Duffy, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. Stephen’s Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
