Anna Profitt

Anna (nee Powell) Profitt, age 89 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 2:20 PM. She was born in Winchester, Kentucky on August 21, 1921 the daughter of William Thompson and Ona (Kimbrell) Powell. Anna was a member of First Baptist Church, and a former member of Richmond Road Baptist Church. On January 2, 1947 in Winchester, Kentucky she married Courtney C. Profitt, and he preceded her in death in 1995.

She is survived by two children, Lois (Rod) Anderson and Courtney G. (Nancy) Profitt, both of Hamilton; two grandchildren, Lori (Roger) Dunn and Lisa (Bryan) Montgomery; eight great-grandchildren, Courtnay, Joseph, Elizabeth, Andrew, Kelley, and Luke Dunn, and Aaron and Anna Montgomery; a foster sister, Virginia Crowe of Winchester, Kentucky; and two special nieces, Ola B. Allen and Connie Chism. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jennie Allen and Evie Johnson; and a foster brother, Earl Welch.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Paul Tillet and Dr. Dennis Metzger officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
