Anne Marie Spindler, aged 99 of Hamilton passed away on June 23, 2026. Anne was born in Jamestown, New York on January 28, 1927 to George and Anne (Whalen) Smith. She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1944. She was married to Robert Spindler for over 70 years. She was a School Secretary at Stephan T. Badin High School, St. Peter in Chains Grade School, and in the Fairfield City School District. She was a member of St. Peter in Chains Church, their Resurrection Choir, the St. Peter in Chains Rosary Alter Society, the Sterling Silvers, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 60 years, and several Card Clubs both Bridge and "500". She volunteered for over 20 years at St. Peter's Bingo. Her pride and joy was spending quality time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She cherished the time she spent with her family and treasured the time she spent with her dear friend of over 65 years, Betty McCoy. The one great sorrow in her life was the death of her beloved son, Richard George Spindler.
Her memory is left to cherish by her grandson; Thomas (Teri) and her granddaughter Susan (Steven), her great grandchildren Sarah and Carolyn Spindler and Benjamin, Aaron, and Katherine Taylor, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Anne, her siblings George, Joseph, Robert, Edward and Mary. Her husband Robert, and her sons Thomas and Richard.
The family would like to extend gratitude to Triple Creek Retirement Community for the amazing care they provided Anne in the nearly five years she called their facility home. Triple Creek treated her like family, and we will always be grateful to Triple Creek for their excellent care for Anne.
Funeral service will be held at St. Peter in Chains Catholic Church, 382 Liberty Ave., Hamilton, Ohio, on Thursday, July 23, 2026. Visitation will be from 9:30AM to 10:30AM. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30AM. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Parkinson’s Disease Association (APDA).
