Archie Lee Anderson Jr.

August 19, 1942 — August 10, 2008

Archie Lee Anderson Jr., age 65 of Hamilton, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2008 at 4:25 PM in Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Williamsburg, Kentucky on August 19, 1942 the only son of Archie and Lillie (Carr) Anderson. Mr. Anderson was a former Pinkerton, formerly the proud owner/operator of Anderson’s General Remodeling, and a retired teacher. Twenty-nine years of his teaching career were spent at Van Buren Elementary School in the Hamilton City School District. Over those years he had the opportunity to teach and team-teach fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. Mr. Anderson touched the lives of many of the youths of Hamilton. Archie was a lifelong fan of country music. Our grief over his death will not overshadow the joy of his life.

Archie is survived and will be sorely missed by his loving children Paul Alan (Lora) Anderson and Andrea Lynn (Richard T.) Hecker; five sisters, Dora V. Sears of Michigan, Opal Creech of Florida, Mae Barron of Indiana, Faye Anderson and Janice Partin, both of Kentucky; and by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Lee and Lillie Anderson, and very special friend Donna Jo Bryant.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM. An interment ceremony will be held at the family cemetery in Williamsburg, Kentucky on Friday at 1:00 PM. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Archie’s memory.
