Arthur Kehr, age 92, died suddenly on September 15, 2025. He was born in Hamilton to the late Carl and Ruth (Yockel) Kehr. He graduated from Fairfield High, class of 1950. Arthur proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant after four years of service. After his time in the military, he returned to Hamilton and married the love of his life, Janet Garland and raised a family. He worked for Champion Paper and retired from Proctor & Gamble. Together with Janet, they never really retired – they became antique dealers and worked many auctions, shows and malls. Arthur and Janet enjoyed 47 wonderful years at Lake Cumberland where they would host the grandchildren for fishing, boating, and fun. He also earned his pilot’s license and enjoyed recreational flying. Arthur gave his life to Jesus Christ later in life and lived his faith everyday after. He was quiet-mannered and had a strong work ethic. Above all, Arthur will be remembered as a kind, gentle man that loved God, his family and friends.
Arthur will be dearly missed by his wife of 72 years, Janet Kehr; daughter, Pam (Steve) Kidd; son, Brian (Kim) Kehr; granddaughters, Jill, Shawna, Michelle and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Davin, Teagan, Rylee, Paxton, Preston, Lilah, Zeke, and Kaylee; and his brother, Thomas. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Janet Laney.
