Aubrey Saylor

Aubrey Saylor, age 83 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospice Unit on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 1:24 AM. He was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on July 13, 1924 the son of Willie and Bessie (Hopkins) Saylor. Aubrey was employed as a boring piston operator at General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1976. On June 7, 1975 in Dayton, he married Margie Russell, who preceded him in death in 2005.

He is survived by three children, Wayne and his wife Lou Ann Saylor of Hamilton, Michael and his wife Edith Saylor of North Charleston, South Caroline and Debie and her husband Gerald Meece of Klawock, Alaska; two sisters, Mavis Paul of Lakeland, Florida and Louise Roark of Hamilton; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, B.L., Claude, and Reed Saylor; and four sisters, Stella Lane, Occie Caldwell, Imogene Weisbrodt, and Rhoda Diamond.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, today, Sunday, December 30, 2007 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Wilma Jackson of Rivers of Life Church of God officiating. Visitation will be held today from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the funeral home. Committal service will be held Monday at Rose Hill Burial Park at 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
