Audrey E. Moore

Audrey E. Moore, age 97 of Hamilton passed away at Golden Years Health Care on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 3:20 PM. She was born in London, Kentucky on December 15, 1909 the daughter of Andrew and Sarah (Hurley) Neely. Audrey was a superb seamstress and was employed as a realtor with Parchman-Oyler Realty, retiring in 1979. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, Hamilton, and later St. Clair Avenue Baptist Church. On June 3, 1935 in London, Kentucky she married Elmer P. Moore, and he preceded her in death in 1981.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including lifelong friend and caregiver Becky Scripture and her family: Dulcie (Paul) Ashworth and their children Jacob, Benjamin, David, Dulcie, Ethan and Luke; and Ruth (John) Wallace, parents of Samuel, Audrey (her namesake), Isabella, Lillian, Sophie and Joseph. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and William Neely; and two sisters, Maude Cornett and Fannie Phillips.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, October 12, 2007 at 2:00 PM with Rev. George Scripture, interim pastor of First Baptist Church of Ft. Wayne, Indiana officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A special thank you is extended to those at Golden Years and Vitas Hospice who came to love Audie during her last three years.
