Austin Degler

Austin Degler, age 14 of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023. Austin was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 16, 2009, the son of Mitchell Degler and Michelle Joseph. Austin was charismatic, resilient, amazing storyteller, who knew how to lighten up a room. He enjoyed fishing, nature parks and time at the cabin. He was a member of the Joe Nuxhall Miracle League from 2016-2019 and the Queen City LPA. Austin loved the Bengals. He attended Wilson Middle School. Austin was a proud band member, playing the trumpet. He had formerly attended Brookwood Elementary. Austin received care from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital since birth, for achondroplasia.

Austin is survived by his parents, Michelle (Matt Treadway) Joseph and Mitchell Degler; his siblings, Jesse “Peyton” Degler, Harley Degler and Raven Treadway; his grandparents, Elinor (Dale) Gabbard and Sarah Darlas; his aunts, Theresa Joseph and Sarah (Mike) Grosse; many cousins; his close friends, Liam Starling and Jonathan Keith; and many other friends and classmates. Austin is preceded in death by his grandparents, Peter and Donna Degler, Jane Ramey and Dennis Joseph.

Visitation will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave, Hamilton, Ohio, on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Service will follow at 7:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Patrick Davis officiating.  Burial will be held at Hickory Flat Cemetery on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM.
