Austin Henry Guthrie

Austin Henry Guthrie, age 75 of Hamilton passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 2:06 PM. He was born in Hamilton on August 27, 1934 the son of Austin T. and Bernadine (Burton) Guthrie. Austin was a member of Labor Union #534. He always had a generous heart and helped anyone he could, and will be truly missed.

He is survived by seven brothers, Winford Guthrie, Earl Guthrie, Mitchell (Wilma) Guthrie, Ralph Guthrie, all of Hamilton, Lesley Guthrie of Florida, Edward (Vickie) Guthrie of London, Kentucky, and Lawrence (Angelique) Guthrie of Hamilton; and three sisters, Betty Guthrie of Hamilton, Martha Guthrie of Middletown, and Becky Guthrie of Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Mark Guthrie; four sisters, Juanita Mardis, Louvela Richmond, Zelda Chester, and Shirley Pluse; and a brother, Curtis Guthrie.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jacob Flannery officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
