Austin M. Wilson, age 66 of Hamilton passed away at his residence on Thursday, December 25, 2008 at 10:25 AM. He was born in Hamilton on May 14, 1942 the son of Austin E. and Clara Lucille (Delaney) Wilson. Austin was a veteran of the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1965, having served on the USS Boston CAG!, USS Richard E. Kraus DD849 and NAFAC Nantucket Island. He was employed as a service worker at Butler County Soldiers Relief for 25 years. Austin was a member of VFW #7670, American Legion Post #138, DAV Chapter #131, Eagle #3986, Moose #501, and Orioles Nest #193. Austin also joined AMVETS in 1968, where he served in all positions on the Post, District, and State level, including serving as Department Commander. On March 13, 1962 he married Judith A. Still.
He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Wilson of Hamilton; two sons, Neal J. (Tina) Wilson of Somerville and Randy Scott Wilson of Trenton; three brothers, Larry A. Wilson, Daniel W. Wilson, and Douglas G. (Shoney) Wilson, all of Hamilton; a sister, Doris M. Ratliff of Hamilton; three grandsons, Ryan Wilson and Cory Wilson of Hamilton and Nathan Wilson of Middletown; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Thomas Wilson.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Kenneth Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
