Barbara "Shorty" Arnette

Barbara "Shorty"Arnette, age 83 of West Chester, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. She was born in Connersville, IN on July 25, 1930 to Reece and Nannie (Hall) Coates. Shorty graduated from Fairfield High School in 1948. On February 14, 1961 she married Ralph P. Arnette. She was a member of the East River Road Baptist Church. Shorty was extremely devoted to her family, loved crafts, camping, and reading.

She is survived by her son, Patrick (Verna) Arnette; two daughters, Marianne (Robert) Privette and Kelli Arnette; six grandchildren, Damon Privette, Melissa (Doug) Tarnovich, Sarah Pickering, Amy Arnette, Elise Pickering, and Anne Arnette; two great-grandchildren,Xavier Privette and Katje Tarnovich; three sisters, Janice Neese, Connie (Ron) Johnson, and Bobbie Jean (Steve) Retherford; a brother, Ron (Carol) Coates; a brother-in-law, Cecil Daniel; sister-in-law, Joyce Coates; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph P. Arnette; parents; two brothers, Donald "Bud" Coates, and Paul Coates; and four sisters, Ruth Asher, Mary Louise Cole, Sandy Daniel, and Delores "Sis" Berling.

Funeral service will be held at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25, 2013 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital or to the East River Road Baptist Church
