Barbara A. Bowman

Barbara A. Bowman, age 63 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. She was born in Hamilton on December 9, 1946 the daughter of Dewey and Daisy (Gray) Powell. In her youth, Barbara enjoyed bowling and fishing. She attended Glory Road Worship Center. On September 2, 1979 in Williamsdale, she married Sheridan Bowman.

She is survived by her husband, Sheridan "Duke" Bowman of Hamilton; three daughters, Rebecca Bowman of Kentucky, Dawn Mastascuso of Louisiana, and Sherilynn (Ronald) Davenport of Hamilton; six grandchildren, Nicholas, Jenna, Emily, Kevin, Tommilynn, and Shaughn; a brother, Donald (Jonnie) Powell of Kansas; two sisters, Brenda Proffitt of Tennessee and Judy Shilt of Ohio; and close friends Shirley Sanchez of Nevada and Lobeida Garrett of Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Powell and Daisy Allen; a brother, James Powell; and a sister, Jessie Powell.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Vernon Williams of Glory Road Worship Center officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
