Barbara Jean Morgan Broadwell

Barbara Jean Morgan Broadwell, 78, of Lillington, North Carolina, peacefully passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at her home in Somerville, Ohio. She was born January 6, 1939 in Kinston, North Carolina to the late Robert and Virginia Morgan. She was raised in Lillington, North Carolina by her aunt and uncle, the late Charlie and Catherine Morton.

Barbara was a long time resident of Raleigh where she taught English at Daniels Middle School and Dillard Drive Middle School for 39 years. She was an active member of the Lillington Presbyterian Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher.

Barbara was a devoted daughter, cherished sister and inspirational aunt who will be remembered for her love of family, faith and humor. Celebration of Life Services will be performed by Pastor Dawn Stoker at Lillington Presbyterian Church on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 3 pm. The family will receive friends and family in the church fellowship hall following the service.

Barbara was predeceased by her sister, Mary Ann Morgan Stewart and brother, Mathew Robert Morgan. She is survived by her niece, Mary Catherine Stewart Ruby, husband Brian, and children Adam and Hannah of Oxford, Ohio; nephew, George Colon Stewart Jr., wife Kim, and son Morgan of Thousand Oaks, California; brother-in-law, George C. Stewart Sr. of Dunn, North Carolina; cousin, Michael Barnes, wife Kathy and children Joshua and Matthew of Raleigh, North Carolina; cousin, Patsy Morgan Johnson, husband Jimmy, and son James, wife Renee of Atlanta, Georgia, and son Scott, wife Tia of Texas.
