Barbara J. Cress

Barbara J. Cress, age 58 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 9:15 PM. She was born in Manchester, Kentucky on April 27, 1949 the daughter of Lewis and Pauline (Bowman) Turner. Barbara was employed as a receiving clerk at Meijer for many years. On December 12, 1969 in Hamilton, she married Ralph Cress, and he preceded her in death in 2006.

She is survived by a daughter, Charlene Sims of Hamilton; a brother, Bill (Barbara) Turner of Hamilton; two sisters, Pamela (Len) Thorne of Hamilton and Mary Katherine Whicker of New Miami; two grandchildren, Joshua Wayne Cress and Meghan Elizabeth Cress; many co-workers at Meijer; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James E. Turner.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Cecil Day of Lighthouse Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Barbara’s family extends a special thank you to the City of Hamilton Paramedics.
