Barbara L. Gentry

Barbara L. Gentry, age 69 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 8:25 PM. She was born in Hamilton on April 11, 1939 the daughter of Robert O. and Dorothy (Cochran) Timler. Barbara was employed as a charge nurse at Westhaven Nursing Home for 24 years, and a receptionist at New Image Hair Salon for the past 18 years. She attended Princeton Pike Church of God and was past President of the former FOP Ladies Auxiliary. On June 28, 1958 in Hamilton she married Robert "Bob" Gentry.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Gentry of Hamilton; three sons, David (Lucinda) Gentry, Michael (LeeAnn) Gentry, both of Hamilton, and Robert (Lorna) Gentry of Trenton; five grandchildren, Lyndsay, Whitney, Robert, Annie, and Olivia Gentry; one great-grandson, Tyson; six brothers, Robert (Pat) Timler of Huntington, West Virginia, Edward (Paula) Timler of Hamilton, William (Sandy) Timler of Cincinnati, Richard (Kathy) Timler of Fairfield, Fred (Dawana) Timler and Tim (Angie) Timler, both of Hamilton; three sisters, Linda Abney of Huntington, West Virginia, Cookie (Gilbert Jr.) Wyatt, and Diana (Dale) Southard, both of Hamilton; three brothers-in-law, Jim (Margaret) Gentry, Jerry (Linda) Gentry, and Dick Gentry, all of Hamilton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Cecil Gentry; two brothers, Thomas and Douglas Timler; and a sister, Mary Timler.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ron Medley, Associate Pastor of Princeton Pike Church of God officiating. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Drs. George Manitsas, Richard Sternberg, and Christopher Soika, and to the staff of Ft. Hamilton ICU for all their care and concern.
