Barney E. Wagers

Barney E. Wagers, age 83 of Hamilton passed away at Hospice of Hamilton on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 4:35 AM. He was born in Hamilton on December 11, 1926 the son of Dudley and Hattie (Collins) Wagers. Barney was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He was employed as a press operator and inspector at Fisher Body for 35 years, retiring in 1987. On November 10, 1955 in Hazard, Kentucky, he married Bertha Sizemore.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Wagers of Hamilton; three sons, Stanley (Carolyn) Wagers of Wayne Township, Kenneth Wagers of Hamilton, and Homer (Angela) Wagers of Hamilton; a daughter, Elaine (Antonio) Falcon of Hamilton; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Homer Wagers and Dudley Wagers Jr.; and four sisters, Margaret Grantz, Beatrice Pollard, Marie Young, and Dorothy Scheffknecht.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
