Beatrice A. "Bea" Crosby

Beatrice A. "Bea" Crosby, age 82 of Hamilton passed away at Ft. Hamilton Hospital on Tuesday, January 12, 2010. She was born in Hamilton on November 16, 1927 the daughter of Albert and Violet (Boatright) Gentry. Bea was formerly employed as a secretary at Ohio Casualty Insurance and was a member since age 4 of Park Avenue United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening, flowers, and was proficient in quilting, knitting, and needlework. On July 18, 1953 in Hamilton she married George W. Crosby, and he preceded her in death on July 11, 2009.

She is survived by a brother, Donald Gentry of Hamilton; a sister, Faye Yeakle of Hamilton; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Barbara Dafler of Park Avenue United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Park Avenue United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or American Cancer Society. Bea’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to all the doctors and entire staff of Ft. Hamilton Hospital for their excellent care and concern.
