Beatrice A. Lewis

Beatrice A. Lewis, age 94 of Hamilton passed away on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11:14 AM. She was born in Berea, Kentucky on October 12, 1916 the daughter of James and Lilly (Powell) Barrett. Beatrice was employed as a machine operator for Clever Cleaners for 25 years, retiring in 1986. On June 3, 1933 in Berea, Kentucky she married James Lewis who he preceded her in death in 1984.

She is survived by two children, Willard (Ginny) Lewis of Williamsdale and Joan (Clifford) Kerr of Hamilton; two sisters, Helen Clark of Hamilton and Myrtle Powell of Berea, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Mike, Robert, Jim, Debi, Cliff, and Tammy; 11 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Charles Lewis and Margaret Kelley; a son-in-law, Robert Kelley; five brothers, Reo, Dave, James, Ray, and Clarence Barrett; and two sisters, Lucy Davidson and Opal.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday September 27, 2011 at 2:00 PM with her nephew, Rev. Jerry Powell of Berea, Kentucky officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
