Benjamin J. Dufeck Sr., age 89 of Hamilton, passed away at Brown County General Hospital, Georgetown, Ohio on Saturday March 28, 2009. He was born in Denmark, Wisconsin on August 25, 1919 the son of Chris and Teresa (Nejedlo) Dufeck. An Army veteran of WW II Ben served from 1942 to 1945 reaching the rank of Staff-Sergeant with the 322nd Depot Supply Squadron. He was employed as director of the meat operations for Super Value Foods Inc. retiring in 1985. Ben was a member of American Legion Post 138 and St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church. In 1945 in Anchorage, Alaska he married Remel DeKeuster who passed away in 2005.
He is survived by three sons, Gary (Elizabeth) Dufeck of York, Pennsylvania, Benjamin J. (Barbara) Dufeck Jr. of Hamilton, and Thomas Dufeck of West Chester; 5 grandchildren, Chris, Alica, Jennifer, Jason, and Nicholas; and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Ronald P. Dufeck; two brothers, George Forst and Ralph Forst; and two sisters, Viola Frieburger and Blanche Zutz.
Family and friends are invited to Mass of Christian Burial, at St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church, 224 Dayton St., on Thursday April 2nd at 10:00 AM with Fr. Michael Pucke celebrant. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Montgomery, Ohio. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Julie Billiart Catholic Church.
