Bennie J. Cook, Sr. 83, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at home. Bennie was born in Jackson, Kentucky to the late Gerald Cook and Rebecca (Bowling) Cook. Bennie proudly served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy, serving both in active duty and in the reserves.
Bennie was a country music singer, songwriter, and recording artist. He sung in many venues for over 45 years.
He retired from General Motors having worked 26 and a half years at the Fisher Body plant. He was an active member of AMVETS Post 1983, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Monkey Mutual Aid Society, and was honored as a Kentucky Colonel.
Bennie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Susan Cook; his daughter, Rebecca Cook (Doug Wolk), his granddaughter, Olivia Wolk; his sisters, Olamae Hall and Goldie Stamper; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Cook and Rebecca Hamilton; his son, Benny Cook, Jr. ; his sister, Joyce Stamper; and his brother, Gerald Cook.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of his Funeral Service at 12:00 NOON at Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Ave., Hamilton, OH 45013. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery.
