Bernadette Pater

Bernadette Pater, age 98 of Hamilton, passed away at Bradford Place on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at 1:00 AM. She was born in Hamilton on August 31, 1917 to William and Elizabeth (Dulle) Wiegand. Bernadette was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Sterling Silvers, and the Knights of Columbus Auxillary #968. On May 2, 1942 in Hamilton she married William Pater and he preceded her in death in 1994.

She is survived by her four children, Jane McKeel of Hamilton, Jerome (Tammy) Pater of Leawood, Kansas, Trish (Fred) Bisdorf, and Mary Ann (Guy) Gaspar, both of Hamilton; ten grandchildren, Shannon, Tim, Chris, Jenny, Jeff, Emily, Brian, Kate, Andy, and Patrick; twenty great grandchildren, Alexandra, Camryn, Joseph, Will, Elsa, Bradley, Michael, Jessica, David, Steven, Tommy, Tyler, Tia, Alexander, Elizabeth, Freddy, Annie, Dori, Nathan, and Allie; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, James Robert Pater; son-in-law, Michael McKeel; and two siblings, Jerome Wiegand and Elizabeth Nichting.

Funeral service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 171 Washington St., on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Father Jim Elsbernd, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. Stephens Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Brown Dawson Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Church or School. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Vitas Hospice and Bradford Place for all their care and support.
