Bernice LoBuono, age 93 of Hamilton passed away at Golden Years Health Care on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 12:20 PM. She was born in Eglon, Kentucky on February 26, 1920 the daughter of Zaccheus and Eugenia (Walker) Carpenter. Bernice was employed as a paper sorter at Champion International Paper for 34 years, retiring in 1982. On September 9, 1950 in Liberty, Indiana she married Joseph F. LoBuono, and he preceded her in death in 1978.
She is survived by four nephews, Timothy Carpenter, Kenneth Carpenter, Gary Rose, and Kenneth Rose; a niece, Penny Jean Barnes; devoted friend and caregiver, Colleen Perry; and a good neighbor, Millie Rooks. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gerald Wayne Thorp; and two siblings, Marie Rose and Kenneth Carpenter.
Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Russell Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM the funeral home.
