Bertha May Bailey

Bertha May Bailey, age 87 of Hamilton passed away at Westover Retirement Community on Sunday, May 31, 2009 at 3:45 PM. She was born in Clinton County, Ohio on May 20, 1922 the daughter of Chauncy and Vera (Runyan) Holton. Bertha was employed as a cook for Ross School District. On October 16, 1940 in Burlington, Kentucky she married Shelby Bailey.

She is survived by her husband, Shelby Bailey of Hamilton; three sons, James Warren Bailey of Florida, Harry Richard (Betty) Bailey of Somerville, and Forrest Edward Bailey of Hamilton; two daughters, Mildred Martin of Liberty Township and Pamela Durbin of Hamilton; one brother, Herschel (Sue) Holton of Hamilton; many grandchildren; and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter; Barbara Ann Walton; her parents; three brothers, Charles, Arthur, and Russell Holton; and one sister, Betty McDaniel.

Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at 1:30PM. Burial will follow at New Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12:30PM to 1:30PM at the funeral home.
