Bertha Barnett

Bertha Barnett, age 80 of Post Falls, Idaho passed away at Koutenai Medical Center, Couer d’Alene, Idaho on Tuesday, September 2, 2008. She was born in Pineville, Kentucky on August 30, 1928 the daughter of Taylor and Nancy (Collins) Philpot.

She is survived by three sons, Jack (Michelle) Barnett of Lancaster, California, Rev. Robert (Ethel) Barnett and Matt (Lynn) Barnett, both of Hamilton; a daughter, Joyce (David) Wilson of Post Falls, Idaho; twelve grandchildren, Bob (Theresa) Barnett Jr., Arlita (Lee) Fields, Sean (Tammy) Barnett, Venita (Ron) Allen, Nancy (Mike) Canupp, Opie Taylor Barnett, Hannah Barnett, Layla Wilson, Brandy Wilson, Sabrina Barnett, Kelley Meyers, and David Meyers: numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Pierce (Dorothy Jane) Philpot of Kentucky; and four sisters, Peanut Simpson, Hazel Smith, Mae (Orville) West, and Lula (Arthur) Merida, all of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roscoe Barnett in 1987; a son, Roscoe Barnett; and two brothers, Andy and Ed Philpot.

A graveside funeral service will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Bertha’s son, Rev. Bob Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be at Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
